AUREBRAVUR CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE
Proper care helps preserve the appearance, structure, finish, and performance of AureBravur products.
Care requirements may vary according to the product’s material, construction, finish, stones, and intended use. Customers should review the material and care information on the individual product page.
1. Understanding AureGold™
AureGold™ is AureBravur’s proprietary name for the gold-tone finish applied over the base material disclosed on the individual product page.
When a product is described as AureGold™ PVD, the finish is applied using a Physical Vapor Deposition process.
AureGold™ does not mean solid gold unless the product description expressly identifies the product as solid gold.
AureGold™ is designed for durability during normal use. However, no surface-applied finish is completely immune to:
- Friction.
- Scratches.
- Abrasion.
- Chemicals.
- Improper cleaning.
- Environmental exposure.
- Gradual cosmetic wear.
Proper care helps preserve the finish.
2. Pool and Beach Use
AureGold™ jewelry may be worn during normal recreational use at the pool or beach.
After exposure to swimming-pool water or seawater:
- Rinse the product thoroughly with fresh water.
- Remove salt, chlorine, sand, sunscreen, sweat, and other residue.
- Dry the product completely with a clean, soft microfiber cloth.
- Allow it to dry fully before placing it in a pouch, box, drawer, or enclosed space.
Avoid:
- Leaving the product wet for extended periods.
- Storing the product while damp.
- Hot tubs, spas, and thermal pools.
- Highly concentrated chlorine.
- Bleach.
- Household cleaning chemicals.
- Prolonged soaking.
- Scrubbing the finish.
- Rough contact with sand or abrasive pool surfaces.
Pool and beach use is permitted, but proper rinsing and drying are important for preserving the finish.
3. Showering and Daily Water Exposure
Ordinary contact with fresh water does not automatically damage AureGold™ jewelry or void its warranty.
However, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and cleaning products may leave residue on the finish.
After significant water or product exposure:
- Rinse the jewelry with clean water.
- Wipe it gently.
- Dry it thoroughly.
Removing the product before showering may reduce residue buildup and cleaning frequency.
4. Perfume, Lotion, Sunscreen, and Cosmetics
To reduce residue and chemical exposure:
- Apply perfume, cologne, lotion, sunscreen, cosmetics, and hair products before putting on jewelry.
- Allow those products to dry or absorb before wearing the piece.
- Avoid spraying perfume or cologne directly onto jewelry.
- Wipe away visible residue after use.
- Rinse and dry the product after significant sunscreen exposure.
Repeated buildup may dull the appearance of the finish.
5. Sweat and Exercise
AureGold™ jewelry may come into contact with ordinary perspiration.
After heavy sweating:
- Wipe the product with a clean microfiber cloth.
- Rinse it with fresh water when necessary.
- Dry it completely before storage.
Remove jewelry during activities where it may be:
- Pulled.
- Crushed.
- Bent.
- Struck.
- Caught on equipment.
- Exposed to repeated metal-on-metal friction.
This includes contact sports, heavy weightlifting, mechanical work, and strenuous activities involving equipment.
6. Cleaning AureGold™ Jewelry
For routine cleaning:
- Wipe the product gently with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
- Remove visible oils, fingerprints, moisture, or residue.
- Store the product only after it is completely dry.
For deeper cleaning:
- Use clean, lukewarm water.
- Use a small amount of mild soap only when necessary.
- Wipe gently with a soft cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Dry immediately and completely.
Do not use:
- Toothpaste.
- Baking soda.
- Bleach.
- Alcohol-based cleaners.
- Acetone.
- Metal polish.
- Abrasive jewelry cloths.
- Scouring pads.
- Hard brushes.
- Harsh jewelry dips.
- Steam cleaners.
- Ultrasonic cleaners unless specifically approved for the product.
7. Friction and Scratches
Friction is a common cause of cosmetic wear.
To reduce friction:
- Store products separately.
- Avoid allowing chains or bracelets to rub constantly against watches.
- Avoid stacking pieces that repeatedly scrape against each other.
- Do not place jewelry loose in a handbag or drawer.
- Keep jewelry away from keys, coins, tools, and rough surfaces.
- Do not rub the product aggressively while cleaning.
Fine scratches and gradual cosmetic changes may occur during normal use.
8. Chains and Bracelets
To protect chains and bracelets:
- Open and close clasps carefully.
- Do not pull, stretch, or force links.
- Do not twist the product aggressively.
- Avoid catching the chain on clothing, equipment, or furniture.
- Remove the product before contact sports or activities involving machinery.
- Store chains flat or hang them separately.
- Fasten the clasp before storage.
- Do not place heavy products on top of delicate chains.
Damage caused by pulling, force, crushing, or impact may not qualify as a manufacturing defect.
9. Rings
Remove rings before:
- Lifting heavy weights.
- Handling tools.
- Cleaning with chemicals.
- Performing mechanical work.
- Activities placing significant pressure on the band or setting.
Avoid:
- Striking the ring against hard surfaces.
- Bending or squeezing the band.
- Allowing chemicals to remain beneath the ring.
- Pulling on stone settings.
Do not resize, engrave, polish, or modify a ring through an unauthorized third party while it is under warranty.
10. Sterling Silver
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and may darken or tarnish over time.
This is a normal material characteristic and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.
To care for sterling silver:
- Store it in a clean, dry place.
- Use an anti-tarnish strip when possible.
- Polish gently with a cloth designed for sterling silver.
- Keep it away from bleach and household chemicals.
- Store it separately from harder materials.
- Avoid excessive or aggressive polishing.
Do not apply silver polish to AureGold™ surfaces, plated areas, pearls, or sensitive stones unless expressly permitted by the product instructions.
11. Moissanite, Diamond, and Stone-Set Jewelry
To care for stone-set jewelry:
- Handle the product by the metal rather than pulling on the stone.
- Protect it from impact and pressure.
- Avoid dropping or crushing the product.
- Inspect prongs and settings periodically.
- Stop wearing the product when a stone feels loose.
- Have loose settings inspected before wearing the product again.
When appropriate for the metal and finish, clean stone-set jewelry with:
- Lukewarm water.
- A small amount of mild soap.
- A very soft brush.
- A clean microfiber cloth.
Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaning unless a qualified professional confirms that the metal, finish, stone, and setting are suitable.
12. Watches
Follow the water-resistance rating identified for the specific watch model.
General watch-care precautions include:
- Keep the crown completely closed before exposure to moisture.
- Never operate the crown or pushers underwater.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and extreme temperature changes.
- Protect the watch from drops and impacts.
- Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields.
- Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft cloth after use.
- Keep leather straps dry.
- Do not spray perfume or chemicals directly onto the watch.
Water resistance may decrease over time because of:
- Aging seals.
- Wear.
- Impact.
- Improper servicing.
- Opening of the case.
Periodic inspection of seals and gaskets is recommended before substantial water exposure.
13. Storage
Store AureBravur products:
- In a clean and dry location.
- Away from direct sunlight.
- Away from excessive heat and humidity.
- In the original box or a soft individual pouch.
- Separately from other jewelry.
- Away from bathrooms and other humid environments.
- Only after the product is completely dry.
Fasten chains before storing them and lay them flat or hang them separately to reduce tangling.
14. Traveling With Jewelry
When traveling:
- Place each item in an individual pouch or compartment.
- Do not store jewelry loose with keys, coins, chargers, or hard objects.
- Keep chains fastened.
- Avoid packing heavy objects on top of jewelry or watches.
- Keep valuable products in secure personal luggage.
15. Professional Service and Alterations
Contact AureBravur before arranging third-party:
- Repairs.
- Resizing.
- Engraving.
- Polishing.
- Replating.
- Stone replacement.
- Watch servicing.
- Structural modification.
Unauthorized work may alter the product and affect warranty eligibility.
16. Normal Wear
Normal wear may include:
- Fine surface scratches.
- Gradual cosmetic finish wear.
- Minor changes caused by friction.
- Sterling-silver tarnish.
- Wear to watch straps or bracelets.
- Natural aging of leather or fabric.
- Reduced water resistance as watch seals age.
These conditions are not automatically considered manufacturing defects.
17. Care and Warranty Coverage
Failure to follow these instructions may:
- Reduce the useful life of the product.
- Affect the product’s appearance.
- Cause damage not covered by the AureBravur Six-Month Limited Warranty.
Normal recreational pool and beach use does not automatically void the warranty when the customer follows the rinsing, drying, and care instructions described in this guide.
